This site was built with the WordPress software. I initially built this site to be my “blog” page for my old site. But as I did so, I realized that I could build the whole thing using this very intuitive system of site creation. A few weeks ago, I decided to build a site for my New Tricks Band. I used the free Wordpress.com hosting site which utilizes the same type of Wordpress software I’m using here. I paid for my own domain and the site was up in a couple of hours. I was surprised how easy it was. So I got inspired to give this site an overhual. But this has proved much more time consuming because of all the content I’ve got on here: 30 pages and counting! But I like the freedom of having access to all the files on my server, so I’ll probably move the New Tricks page to be hosted here and just change the DNS.
I’m currently using the Suffusion WordPress theme by Sayontan Sinha. It’s highly configurable but I couldn’t help myself, I tweaked the Style Sheets. But this has been nothing like the undertaking of building my last sight from “scratch”.
